Department
Welcome to the Department of Pharmaceutics, established in 2004, the core hub of formulation science, drug delivery innovation, and industrial pharmacy. Our department bridges the gap between discovering a raw therapeutic molecule and transforming it into a safe, stable, and highly effective medication for patient use.
We offer comprehensive academic programs across undergraduate (B. Pharm), postgraduate in Pharmaceutics (M. Pharm), and doctoral levels (Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics). Our curriculum combines rigorous theoretical knowledge with advanced practical training to prepare the next generation of global pharmaceutical leaders.
Through cutting-edge research, hands-on laboratory training, and a future-focused curriculum, we equip students with the skills required to lead the global pharmaceutical industry.
Develop innovative pharmaceutical dosage forms and formulations.
Work in pharmaceutical manufacturing and industrial scaling operations.
Ensure pharmaceutical product quality and compliance standards.
Handle pharmaceutical regulations, documentation, and patent systems.
Participate in drug testing, validation, and research studies.
Contribute to advanced pharmaceutical teaching and scientific innovation.
Equipped with rotary tablet presses, coating pans, capsule filling and bottle filling machines.
Features sophisticated analytical instruments like HPLC, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, FTIR and more.
Controlled sterile environment for ophthalmic and injectable product formulation and testing.
The department undertakes research projects funded by Savitribai Phule University, Pune. These grants have helped modernize laboratories with sophisticated instruments and upgraded research facilities.
More than 200 publications, 10+ books, and 10+ patents contribute to the department’s achievements. More than 500 research projects have been completed since 2004.
